Glebe ‘beach’ selling homemade Popsicles

Can’t make it to a beach? No problem. A couple of weeks ago, the Playa del Popsicle truck opened its window and began serving up homemade fruit popsicles ($2.50 each) in a sunny spot behind Mrs. Tiggy Winkles (in the former Flapjack’s Pancake Shack spot).

In fact, the place is owned by the pancake gurus, who now ply their trade out of a restaurant in Little Italy. Chairs, shade, and sand encourage you to rest awhile.

City Bites Hot Tip: If you’re arriving with little ones, bring wipes. These icy treats are water-based and melt quickly. And though grownups will love the mixed berry options (chockfull of raspberries, red currents, and blueberries), our kids weren’t keen on all the “seeds and bits.” The plain strawberry version (everyone can get behind chunks of strawberry) or a snow cone will always go down well.

It’s open daily from 11-4pm.
