Busy times ahead for Arnprior’s Matt Grant, who was recently honoured with the Pasty Ambassador award at the World Pasty Championships in Cornwall, England, in early March. The owner of The Great British Pasty & Pie Co. returns to the Ottawa Farmers’ Market this Sunday, March 20, for the first time since the prestigious competition.

City Bites Hot Tip — Ask the friendly expat Brit about his award and pick up a few of his tasty pasties (made with thin pastry to maximize the amount of savoury filling that can be packed inside). We’re particularly partial to Matt’s Back Bacon & Cheese pasty (so Canadian!), but classics like the Steak & Guinness and “The Cornish” are also high on the list.
